Covax Extru is the result of the development and advanced optimisation in the processing of full-fat soya beans. It involves the full toasting and extrusion processing of pre-cleaned and finely granulated full-fat soya beans.
Extrusion is the latest and most advanced technology for pre-cooking of raw materials for both the food and animal feed industries. Due to a combination of temperature, friction and pressure, the extrusion process intensively changes cell structure, which results in a maximum protein and oil availability. Relatively high moisture contents are used in the extruder, which ensures an effective cooking effect. This makes it possible to fully eliminate anti-nutritional factors (ANFs) and bitter substances. The protein is not overheated either and, therefore, retains maximum digestibility. The intensive processing in the extruder damages the cell structure, considerably increasing the availability of the high-grade soya bean oil.
